Fiber Cement Home Siding Materials
Fiber cement is a newer development in home siding materials. It is a sturdy composite material made from cement and cellulose fibers. Its benefits include being insect and fire-resistant, low-maintenance, and performing well in inclement weather. It costs slightly more than vinyl siding.
Brick
Brick siding provides a classic aesthetic and a sturdy exterior. There is a difference between brick masonry and brick veneer siding. Brick masonry makes up the walls of the home, but brick veneer siding has wooden walls behind it. Solid brick houses can last for centuries. Brick veneer costs $9-$11 per square foot, making it one of the most expensive types of siding. Solid brick can cost three times as much.
